Metal Sintering

Selective Laser Melting (SLM) is a rapid prototyping process used exclusively for the production of metal. The process is particularly suitable for very small quantities with complex geometries.
As with other generative methods, the components are built using the layered construction method. The metal powder is applied in layers and melted by a high-energy laser beam at the point where the workpiece is to be produced. A powerful filament laser then melts the intended areas selectively. To prevent the material from oxidizing, the working area is usually filled with a protective gas.

Highly complex, one-hundred percent tight components can thus be manufactured in one piece. The components can be made of different metals and alloys. The accuracy is 0.03 mm layer thickness and 0.18 laser diameter.
